Hi there! I am so glad you are here and thinking about engaging in a True Nature Retreat. I am so passionate about coming alongside people and giving space for healing, self-discovery, and creating the life they want. I have a deep knowing that in order to feel we are living a meaningful life, we must look inward and take time to heal and grow. We can all live with joy, peace, connection, and fulfillment. I am a licensed therapist and the owner of True Nature Therapy & Wellness in Des Moines, Iowa. As a therapist, I get the honor of hearing stories about struggle, pain, healing, and the reality of just how deeply stored away our true desires can sometimes be. I hope these retreats can be a place that inspires you to connect with your hopes for your life and create a blueprint for living a life of meaning, adventure, and balance.

Nature has been an integral part of my own self-discovery process from an early age. I spend a lot of time outdoors hiking, camping, kayaking, nature journaling, bird watching, and gardening. One of my passions is traveling around the United States to camp in various state and national parks. I do much of my traveling with friends and loved ones, but I also do a lot of solo traveling and camping. Through these experiences, I have learned to work through a lot of fear and get to know myself in a deep manner. Imagine spending 7 days alone in a remote campground in the mountains with no technology or cell service. : ) It has been deeply healing and empowering for me over the years. While I love visiting other states, I also feel passionate about experiencing and exploring the beauty in Iowa. I have been to 45 of Iowa's State Parks and still counting! My dog Olive and I love to travel around in my teardrop camper, to camp, hike, kayak, and enjoy nature!

I have extensive experience in facilitating retreats, workshops, and outdoor experiences. I am trained in utilizing nature as a modality for therapeutic treatment. I find retreats to be so meaningful in having an immersive experience where you can slow down to focus on yourself and build authentic connection with others. A unique thing about me as a therapist is that I would never ask my clients or retreat participants to do something that I myself am not willing to do. Personally, I deeply value self-growth and self-reflection, and I believe that makes me a really good guide to help others along their self-discovery journey.

Other than being outdoors, I love to use my energy for things that nourish my mind, body, and spirit. I love meditation, authentic relationships with my friends and family, drinking coffee, taking my dog on walks, journaling, yoga, trying new creative art outlets, and reading.
